AIA Oregon PCA Winners
This year, we held a multi-section People’s Choice Awards (PCA).
By including multiple sections in the PCA, we set out to achieve multiple benefits for the Oregon Chapter members:
Provide an opportunity for outreach from AIA Oregon to educate the public about the importance of architecture and what it involves.
Provide an opportunity to share with the public and other AIA Oregon section members the variety of architecture happening across the state.
Provide an opportunity for members architects to showcase their designs to a larger audience.
Develop a consistent PCA format for all sections of AIA Oregon.
Reduce the amount of effort for AIA Oregon staff by having a single PCA awards (rather than multiple PCA efforts).
Provide a path for AIA Oregon section members to earn entry into the Oregon Architecture Awards (OAA).
This year, participation in the PCA included three sections: Bend, Eugene, and Southern Oregon. Each section displayed all entries to the PCA at venues in 3 different cities (Bend, Eugene, and Medford). Each entry competed only within their section, with winners selected by on-line public voting. For the sections that had multiple categories, a winner was selected by the public voting in each category.
