Architects + Advocacy:

a Better Oregon

AIA Oregon’s advocacy focuses on shaping public policy to support architecture, the built environment, and the communities architects serve.

The Work

You’ve got questions,
We’ve got answers.

    • Monitors state legislation affecting architecture, land use, housing, sustainability, and professional practice.

    • Works directly with Oregon legislators to influence bills and regulations.

    • Hosts advocacy days and coordinates member participation in policymaking via our legislative action committee.

    • Defends and advances architects’ roles, licensure standards, and practice rights.

    • Supports laws that ensure public health, safety, and welfare through high-quality design.

    • Advocates for policies that address housing affordability, zoning reform, and smart growth via our housing advocacy committee.

    • Supports equitable, resilient, and climate-responsive community design.

    • Aligns with AIA National’s advocacy priorities while focusing on Oregon-specific issues.

    • Coordinates grassroots efforts and member action alerts.

    • The Industry Forum consists of members from ACEC Oregon, (American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon) PLSO (Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon) AGC Oregon (Associated General Contractors of Oregon) and AIA Oregon. The Forum discusses pressing concerns in each of our industries, either seeking good ideas or ways we can collaborate to create solutions that benefit the entire industry legislatively.
