McKenzie River Trust Volunteer Day

Join the American Institute of Architects, and American Society of Landscape Architects for an afternoon with McKenzie River Trust on Friday, April 24th, 12:00-3:30 pm, helping to care for our local lands and rivers! Our project will take place at Green Island, a 1,100-acre conservation area just outside of Coburg, Oregon, where the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers meet. Our time together will include:

🌿 Introductions and overview of McKenzie River Trust and Green Island

🌿 Lunch on the land provided by the American Institute of Architects

🌿 Invasive species removal project along a beautiful stretch of the Willamette River

🌿 Additional exploration of areas that beavers and other species call home

🦫 Please help us prepare materials and important communications by registering ahead of time -

Tools and gloves are provided, and no experience is necessary to join! If anyone has questions about accessibility or project details, please contact volunteer manager Sarah Wheeler at swheeler@mckenzieriver.org.

Green Island also hosts Living River Exploration Days, when the public is welcome to walk and explore freely on the second Saturday of each month, March through December. McKenzie River Trust purchased this special property in 2003; you can learn more about its history here.
