Eugene Section Meetings occur every Third Wednesday except in August, November, and December.
At the March meeting we will hear from Katie Ritenour, PE, SE, LEED AP of KPFF Eugene + Portland Structural. She will present Mass Timber Structural Systems Evaluated for 1 AIA LU|HSW.
This presentation will discuss the different types of mass timber structural systems. It will explain how early design decisions impact the building’s final structural solution, including the choice of mass timber product. KPFF will use project-specific examples to further evaluate the pros and cons of each solution and will highlight unique detailing, project challenges and lessons learned. KPFF will also discuss recent research and future code development regarding mass timber buildings.
