For our September Section Meeting, we will be meeting at the Eugene PAE office in the District Co-Working Space.
In addition to socializing, food, and drink, we will hear from PAE on LED Lighting
Light on Waste: Evaluating the Environmental Impacts of LED Lighting
1 AIA LU|HSW
Light on Waste speaks to new and developing approaches of looking at LED lighting from a different lens. The Construction and Design industry is at a turning point in the transition to sustainable, low-impact building materials and processes. As this presentation will demonstrate, the lighting industry still has work tod do. It’s time to close the finite resource loop.
Registration will open closer to the event.
Learning Objectives:
Understand current sustainability challenges and lack of life cycle transparency inherent in lighting manufacturing, materials, and processes.
Discover ways in which light fixtures can be designed to reduce the usage of finite resources.
Take away actionable steps to implement efficient lighting standards and policies for sustainable design practices.
Recognize the different ways embodied and operational energy can be immediately reduced through efficient design, effective control systems, and waste management.
