WHAT: In partnership with AFO and AIA, join us for a work session focused on building and supporting pathways to the profession.

• Join us at 5pm for beverages, snacks, and a chance to connect.

• Chris Brida, Director of Career + Technical Education at Portland Public Schools, will lead a fast-moving interactive experience to discover why industry participation in CTE is essential to developing a more skilled, curious, and diverse talent pathway.

• An emerging professional will share the key moments that influenced their pathway to the AEC industry.

• Peer firm leaders will lead break-out sessions on three different topics: Policy, Culture, Action!

WHY: Right now, the demand for support (volunteering, funding, mentoring) from the AEC industry is not being met. We believe that every firm should be contributing towards a more civic-minded professional culture to strengthen our designs, our firms, and our communities. 

WHO: This session is for AEC firm leaders, changemakers, current and prospective volunteers, and anyone passionate about increasing student access to design and building fields. 

GOAL: AEC professionals and firm leaders will be inspired to support pathways to the profession. They will walk away with tools and resources to define or strengthen their approach, from policy to culture to structured programs.
