I'm excited to share that after a year of gathering input from members and member groups, the AIA Board of Directors has officially ratified our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. The plan is designed to help you succeed and reflects what you told us matters most.

I invite you to learn more about what we’ve been working on—and how your input is shaping what comes next.

Here are a few ways to get involved and take advantage of what's ahead this quarter.

  • See what's next for architecture at the industry's most influential event, the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design® 2026. This year's program includes a keynote by AI expert Charlene Li, an AI Symposium, and 350+ breakthrough CE sessions. Members get our best rate— explore all available discounts, including new members and students. I look forward to seeing you there!

  • Learn more about the broad coalition of leading preservation and architecture groups that AIA joined to protect the Kennedy Center.

  • Want to be ready to respond when a disaster occurs in your community? Complete the Safety Assessment Program Training, May 20-21.

  • Bring us your ideas for Women's Leadership Summit, November 1-3 in Kansas City, MO, by submitting proposals for CE sessions, guided walking tours, or wellness activities (April 21 deadline).

  • Join AIA Chief Economist Richard Branch and me on May 22 for our Q2 Economic Update, where we'll discuss what the latest economic conditions mean for your practice.

  • Shape the future of AIA by serving on a national committee, jury, or leadership group. The annual call for volunteers opens May 1.

I've had the privilege of meeting many AIA members in person during AIA Leadership Summit and visits to our chapters in Colorado, California, New York, and Illinois. I'm proud to stand alongside you as a fellow member, and I'm committed to ensuring AIA works tirelessly on your behalf. I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and feedback—please don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can continue to shape a stronger, more impactful future for our profession.
