Firm billings for June 2022

AIA's Architecture Billings Index is a recognized leading indicator for nonresidential construction and is available to AIA members for free. June’s index continued to grow at a modest pace, with a score of 53.2. More than two-thirds of firms also reported employing staff engaging in project sustainability objectives.

Call for proposals/submissions

2022 AIA Upjohn Research Initiative grants

The Upjohn program funds up to six research grants of $15,000-$30,000 per recipient annually for projects completed in a 6- to 18-month period. Research should be relevant and applicable to practicing architects. Upjohn Research grant funding will be allocated to projects related to the priorities outlined in AIA’s Climate Action Plan and AIA’s Strategic Plan. Submissions are due September 1. NAC call for volunteers

The National Associates Committee needs volunteers to help improve the industry. If you’re interested in advocacy, mentorship, and other aspects affecting emerging professionals, this is an excellent opportunity to hear your voice at the national level. Registration is now open for AIA/ACSA’s third annual virtual Intersections Research Conference: Resilient futures on October 6-7. This conference will bring together researchers, architects, designers, policymakers, and more from practice and academia to share their vision of an improved future.
