AIA Southern Oregon People’s Choice Awards
Starting in 2011, the American Institute of Architects - Southern Oregon Chapter (Now the AIA Southern Oregon Section of AIA Oregon) has held a (somewhat) annual People’s Choice Awards for Architecture. The intent of these awards is to educate and inspire our fellow citizens by showcasing architecture and interior architecture created by members of AIA Southern Oregon. The program’s goal is to demonstrate to the public the role of the architectural professions in enhancing the built environment.
2020 saw the inclusion of AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence: entrants are asked to describe how their project address the categories “Design for Integration” and “Design for Discovery”, and two other categories as determined by the selecting firm. For unbuilt projects, they needed to address “Design for Integration” and three other categories.
2025 AIA Southern Oregon People’s Choice Awards
The AIA Southern Oregon People's Choice Awards are back! AIA Southern Oregon and the Crater Lake Section of Oregon ASLA held the 2025 awards in downtown Medford during the Art in Bloom on May 10 and 11.
The display was held at the entry to the Southern Oregon Historical Society, and we shared the space with an exhibit of the local Architects in Schools participants.
