Small Firms Exchange event at Portland Millwork

Join fellow architects & designers for the AIAO Portland Section’s Small Firm Exchange (SFx) event at Portland Millwork’s new showroom in Wilsonville. Get a first hand look at the 47,000 square foot facility, showcasing examples of over 45 different window and glazed door displays*.

Drop in to learn about the latest trends including Marvin’s new Marvin Modern windows, Kolbe’s European Designed all-aluminum VistaLuxe AL, Marvin’s new Awaken skylite, Marvin’s new Skycove window, Euroline Steel windows, and ActivWall gas-strut windows.

Portland Millwork will also give a program regarding “best practices and considerations for window and big door installations,” lead by the general manager, Dave Carlson, by our head of installation division Dave Jarvis and Marketing Manager Jim Kehoe.  20-30 min plus Q&A.  The focus will be:

  • Implications of wind load on product selection and performance ratings on windows

  • Structural reinforcement methods

  • Installation details

  • Cost factors regarding installations

  • Handling issues

  • Additional resources

Lunch will be provided by Portland Millwork. This tour can be self-reported for 1 LU | Elective.

*Displays include wood, aluminum clad, all aluminum, steel, fiberglass, and vinyl products by Marvin, Kolbe, Western, Euroline, Weiland, ActivWall and Milgard. Try out 9 movable glazed wall full-sized systems (typically 15/0 x 9/0) including lift/slide, multi-slide, bi-parting, bi-folding, pocketing and hinged.
