In anticipation of the Portland Building’s grand re-opening, the City of Portland is pleased to present a panel discussion featuring two architects from Michael Graves Architecture and Design who were involved in the original building design process, and two architects from DLR Group who led the restoration and redesign. The panelists will share stories and insights from both the original construction project and the process of restoring and reinvigorating an architectural icon. Just as the Portland Building’s original construction prompted an international conversation about Postmodern architecture and how we interpret history, so too does the re-design engender a conversation about evolving approaches to historic preservation.
