Digital Design Series - OSU Cascades Project Construction Tour

1 AIA LU|HSW Available

Join us for an update on the OSU Cascades Edward J. Ray Hall. Through a virtual construction tour and presentation, the SRG Partnership project team will showcase construction progress on the mass timber, net-zero-ready building first described in the May 2020 InProcess lecture. See how the old pumice mine is being developed, and how the commitment to sustainability and design excellence are being carried out in the construction and get your questions answered on what's working, what has changed, and any lessons learned along the way.

Learning Objective 1:
Participants will be able to identify the unique aspects of mass timber that are helping achieve a net-zero energy and water building.

Learning Objective 2:
Participants will be able to discuss forest restoration in the mass timber process and how to prioritize forest health, mitigate wildfire risk and promote forest collaboratives that benefit the community.

Learning Objective 3:
Participants will be able to analyze how to design in the high desert environment and summarize lessons learned around the material pallets, systems and construction techniques employed in response to the environment.

Learning Objective 4:
Participants will be able to understand how the full project team worked together collaboratively to achieve the most value within the budget to achieve the client’s goals and how that is playing out in the construction.
