In this Digital Design Series course, participants will gain an understanding of opportunities and limitations for sustainable specification integration with the Framework for Design Excellence. The course aims to equip attendees with the knowledge to match responsibilities to the most-effective team members for verifiable project success.
Learning Objectives
Apply the core principles and sections of the Framework for Design Excellence to project planning and design
Evaluate the design responsibilities of specification writing and drafting.
Create clear, concise, correct and complete sustainability language for documents, allowing management of material safety criteria such as Red List, FSC and waste management to reduce the inclusion of toxic substances in the built environment and exclude forced labor and modern slavery from the supply chain.
Analyze project requirements and market transformation advocacy, allowing contract administrators to responsibly review submittals and ensure project success while protecting human & ecosystem health in an equitable manner.
